چکیده
The development of metal-catalyzed methods for promoting reactions and regioand steroselectivity has greatly advanced in recent years. One of the foremost metal-catalyst is palladium. Its versatile function and tolerance make it an excellent choice in organic synthesis. Pd catalyst offers abundant possibilities in the formation of bonds both carbon-carbon bonds and heteroatom bonds. One can see the incredible variety of functions through the varies oxidation states of palladium. This paper will review the many functions of palladium and related them to the oxidation state and electron structure of Pd. ________________________________________________________________________ INTRODUCTION

Peer Review: Structural/Function Relationships of Palladium complexes as a Function of Oxidation State
The examination of Pd(0), Pd(II), and Pd(IV) were nicely summarized and presented in an easy to follow sequential manner. Descriptions of various oxidation states and the reactions they catalyze, as well as the Pd center painted a nice picture for Pd as a catalyst. While probably not necessary, a table of specific transformations to show the scope of catalysis possible at various oxidation stat...

Up to now, various empty carbon fullerenes with different magic number "n", such as C10, Cow Cm, Cso,Cis** Cm and so on. have been obtained. The calix[n]arenes are a class of chalice-like rnacrocyclicmolecules that have attracted widespread attention as complex molecules with liquid crystal behaviors. These classes of compounds are cyclic ohgomers synthessid by condensation of a para-alkylated p...
متن کاملPalladium nanoparticles supported on carbon black powder as an effective anodic catalyst for application in a direct glucose alkaline fuel cell
Palladium nanoparticles supported on carbon black powder (Vulcan XC-72) nanocomposite (Pd/C) are synthesized as the catalyst for the anodic oxidation of glucose for use in a direct glucose alkaline fuel cell (DGAFC). Characterization of the catalyst is carried out using physical and electrochemical methods. It is observed that Palladium nanoparticles are uniformly dispersed onto the carbon blac...
متن کاملRedox-active phosphines: synthesis and crystal structures of palladium(II) complexes of a metallaphosphine in two different oxidation states.
The redox-active metallaphosphine [Fe(dppe)(η(5)-C5Me5)(C≡C-PPh2)] reacts with [Pd(1,5-cod)Cl2] to give mono- and bis-phosphine coordinated palladium centres as a function of stoichiometry, and these complexes provide a stable redox-active platform which allows reversible one-electron {Fe(II)→Fe(III)(+)} oxidations within the palladium coordination sphere.

Background and Objectives: Transition metal complexes possess a variety of biological and pharmacological activities, such as antitumor, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, anti-diabetic, and free radical scavenging. Many studies have been carried out on platinum-based chemotherapy agents, however, most attention has been paid to non-platinum metal-based agents in order to find different metal comp...
